AWS re:Invent 2024 Showcases Industrial Cloud Technology and Generative AI

AWS is building new applications for manufacturers to quickly take advantage of generative AI and boost productivity, enhance customer experiences and optimize supply chain processes. These capabilities are on display at AWS re:Invent, Amazon's technology conference being held in Las Vegas December 2-6.

It’s been three years since Amazon president and CEO Andy Jassy attended re:Invent and his remarks were the highlight of Monday's sessions. The full agenda can be found in the AWS Events mobile app or on the Agenda page of the re:Invent website.

Two announcements show the company's commitment to advancing cloud-based services and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Wiwynn, an international cloud IT infrastructure provider for hyperscale data centers with headquarters in Taiwan, adopted AWS Outposts, a family of fully managed cloud-computing solutions delivering AWS infrastructure and services to virtually any on-premises or edge location. The result was they achieved production 10 months ahead of schedule while reducing the deployment time of manufacturing automation and warehouse management systems for their new Malaysia factory by 90% to just one week.
Wiwyyn's focus is on next-generation technologies to provide the best TCO and workload efficiency and its main areas of interest include advancements in cloud, AI, advanced connectivity and edge computing.

Large-appliance maker Midea, which is headquartered in southern China and has more than 150,000 employees and operations in 195 countries, has successfully deployed Amazon Connect's cloud-based customer-contact centers across 14 countries. Midea achieved a 30% cost reduction and 95% connection rates while gradually implementing new generative AI capabilities to enhance customer service operations.

The generative AI products implemented include Amazon Lex, Amazon Q, and Amazon Connect Contact Lens.

Those not attending in person can livestream re:Invent keynotes and innovation talks and get access to on-demand breakout sessions. Registration for the livestream is free and can be done anytime during the event. Keynotes, innovation talks and breakout sessions are also available on demand after they are presented at re:Invent.
